Back in action

It's been awhile since anything new appeared on here.
To the left I have added the link to the CCC Artists page. Please go here to check the schedule!

Also, if you visit the artists page, you can find mp3s for this month's songs. We will NOT be distributing CDs this month (April), so please go to the Weekly Music page. There you will find a folder for April, then a folder for Montgomery, then a folder for each weekend.

Please let me know if you have questions and/or problems with this process.

Thanks!

No after-Christmas blahs here

Great job to the band last weekend for having great energy in the face of everyone coming down off their holiday sugar highs. It was a great weekend!!

Christmas Extravaganza

A huge thanks to my dear friends from Springfield who volunteered to come up and play for the spectacular Christmas weekend services. And to Rod, who was a trooper for the weekend + Monday, Christmas Eve!!

I really need a tripod.

I love CCC and I am a firm believer in multi-site....but it really sucks when you know you are sending one of your best artists to another campus. This was probably the last weekend Breanne will be singing on our Montgomery stage because she is going to Plainfield this spring, so I had to make sure I recorded her at least once. My apologies for Here is Our King...my battery died at the best part.

sometimes you just have to laugh...

I got permission from Jenn to share this story before posting, but I thought it was a great reminder that though we strive for excellence, perfection is not the standard we are trying to attain.

I love having Jenn lead worship because of the energy she brings to stage and the passion that you can see in her on stage. The closing song in this weekend's service was My Glorious, kind of an old school song that we all know pretty well, and the band had a really nice arrangement and everything was going smoothly in rehearsal and cue to cue. But somewhere in there I think Jenn had a brain freeze, because at the end of the song she left out some lyrics which caused the band to get completely lost which led to the song trailing off and an awkward silence that was broken by Jenn laughing at herself and admitting to the audience: "I'm sorry, I totally messed up the words."

It's easy to get flustered in those moments and beat ourselves up over mistakes like that, but what I loved what that she didn't let it phase her. I can't tell you enough the importance of being able to laugh at yourself in instances like that--it takes off so much pressure and it puts everyone else at ease too.

So remember, it's OK to make mistakes. If you expect that you will sometimes it makes it easier when they happen, and even better when you don't! But also remember that generally people will overlook those things if you can let go of it yourself.

Here is a successful take of My Glorious!

Coming Home

This weekend's service was a great reminder of why we do what we do. As artists it's really easy to get caught up in the good, the bad, and the ugly as it pertains to each individual area of the arts, but in reality it's all about helping people find their way back to God....bringing them back home.

Here is Heather singing the special. She knocked it out of the park! Again, sorry about the bad lighting.

the point...

The point of this blog is to expose the world at large to the cool things happening at Montgomery campus. You guys should know that I am extremely proud of the team of artists we have developed and hopefully you can share in my excitement of the cool things that happen during our services!

Here are some clips from last weekend. All I have to say is Beth Jackson is a rockstar.
